Things to do in Newcastle: Indoors

So, what does a person do when they’re in Newcastle and they’re looking for things to do indoors? Well there’s plenty to keep you occupied in this lively city. There’s so much to see and do that you’ll never be bored. We’ve gone through some of the places you could visit when you’re here, all indoors, so you can create your own list of your favourite places to visit.

Lots of Family Centred Indoor Areas

If you have a family, Newcastle is the perfect place to be because there are so many fun things you can do in the city. For a start there’s the Blue Reef Aquarium with everything from sharks and stingrays to monkeys even, and there’s daily seal shows to keep you all entertained. After you can visit the café for when you need some refreshment.

The Funshack

This is great for all the family. It’s boasts the largest indoor adventure centre in the North of England with lots of fun things for the kids to do. They won’t find a single second to be bored! Then there’s Raby Castle of course, at Staindrop in Darlington. This is history and beauty all in one with one of the best-preserved castles in the north.

Swim Fun For The Family

If you and your family fancy a swim, then come to Splash Stockton on Church Road in Stockton on Tees. It’s a great pool and there’s plenty of space to swim and have fun. There’s also a sports hall, with waves and flumes, even a jacuzzi and when you’re done, just head off to the food and drink facilities.

Museum of Natural History

Another excellent place to visit is the Hancock Museum which you’ll find on Barras Bridge in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a refurbished Victorian museum with displays of Hadrian’s Wall and a focus on natural history, there’s so much to see, it’s a day’s entertainment. And perhaps just one day isn’t enough even, you may need to come back.
